Collectively Independent 2026 — Beyond the Visible
Ramos approaches abstraction through instinct, spirituality and an intimate connection with nature. Largely self-taught as an artist and photographer, his practice has evolved from minimalist landscapes towards complete abstraction. Working primarily in oils, he creates richly textured surfaces through layering, scratching and expressive
mark-making. Influenced by the landscapes of Uttarakhand and by artists including Nasreen Mohamedi, Ram Kumar, Paul Klee and Hilma af Klint, his paintings become spaces where energy, memory and contemplation converge.
Ruchi Chadha, a graduate of the College of Art, New Delhi, brings more than three decades of engagement with painting and ceramics. Nature, water and the cycles of transformation form the foundation of her practice. In her ongoing lotus series, she shifts the viewer’s perspective beneath the water, revealing the darkness, silt, weeds and filtered light from which the lotus emerges. The flower becomes a metaphor for resilience, hope, renewal and transcendence.
